The Soulsville Foundation celebrates Memphis’ soul by preserving, honoring and developing Soulsville USA.
The Stax Museum is a part of the Soulsville Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit that will uplift and invigorate the music and heritage of Stax Records to develop young people for lifelong success, and continue to inspire and transform the world through the power of soul music.
The foundation was started by a group of concerned local business leaders, philanthropists and former Stax Records employees to ensure that the rich legacy of the Soulsville USA community would not be lost to history.
The Soulsville Foundation is the parent organization of the Stax Museum of American Soul Music, the Stax Music Academy and The Soulsville Charter School.
