Three Stax icons among Memphis Music Hall of Fame inductees
The Memphis Music Hall of Fame announced its roster of inductees yesterday. Among them were singer, songwriter, and member of the Mar-Keys, Don Nix; former Stax Records Director of Publicity and founding President and CEO of the Soulsville Foundation, Deanie Parker,. and former Artist in Residence and one-time Soulsville Foundation President and CEO, GRAMMY-winning artist Kirk Whalum.
