Free Family Day – September 12

Join us for a fun-filled afternoon at the Stax Museum with free admission from 1–4 PM!

September’s Free Family Day at the Stax Museum features an afternoon of free activities, live entertainment, and fun for the whole family.

Enjoy live entertainment in Studio A, themed arts and crafts with River Arts Fest, giveaways from Mid-South Fair, free library card sign-ups with Memphis Public Libraries, and more!

As always, guests will enjoy free admission to the Stax Museum, where they can explore the history of American Soul music and the lasting legacy of Stax Records.

About our September Family Day partners:

River Arts Fest will bring its FACE FORWARD: Reflections of Our Community project to Free Family Day, inviting families to create colorful self-portraits as part of this community-wide arts project. Participants of all ages and abilities are encouraged to take part, with completed portraits becoming part of a larger installation celebrating the community at River Arts Fest in October.

As a bonus, everyone who completes a self-portrait will receive a free admission coupon to River Arts Fest, taking place October 17–18 in Downtown Memphis.

One of the region’s favorite annual traditions, the Mid-South Fair is back at Landers Center in Southaven October 1–11, 2026! MSF will provide free admission vouchers to the Fair for kids ages 12 and under, along with a variety of activity sheets for families to enjoy.

Memphis Public Libraries will be on hand to help families sign up for free library cards and connect with the resources available through the library system. Stop by to get your card, learn more about library programs and services, and discover all that Memphis Public Libraries has to offer.
