Photographer Pat Rainer’s images of Memphis music legends collected in first-time exhibit at Stax Museumm

Currently on display through July 31, 2018, the Stax Museum’s newest exhibit features the Memphis music and culture photography of Patricia Rainer, whose body of work focuses mainly on the city’s music scene post Elvis and the original Stax Records (the label was revived in 2007 by new owners Concord Music). Just some of the subjects of Rainer’s behind-the-scenes images are Sun Records founder Sam Phillips, Box Tops and Big Star legend Alex Chilton, soul icon and the man who discovered him Al Green and Willie Mitchell, and punk rock pioneer Tav Falco of Panther Burns.
