Stax Museum introduces new online archive website
In a move to keep Stax Records fans and enthusiasts engaged during the current COVID-19 coronavirus emergency, the Stax Museum, which remains closed until further notice, has introduced a new website that features a rare collection of Stax graphics and other items that have been digitized.
Generously supported by the Grammy Museum Foundation. “DEEP CUTS: RARE ITEMS FROM THE STAX ARCHIVES” opens the archival vault with an incredible collection of concert posters, trade advertisements, album cover artwork, the catalog from 1969’s Soul Explosion, a full and rare collection of “Stax Fax” newsletters, and children’s books about Isaac Hayes and the Staple Singers.
According to The Memphis Flyer, “If you’ve binge-watched too many movies and television series during this stay-at-home time, and have done every jigsaw puzzle in the house, the Stax Museum of American Soul Music might just have the solution for the social distancing doldrums. As of now, their massive digitized archive is online, free for perusing.”
